To celebrate our selection of Other Words for Home as our 2021 National Book Festival Great Reads from Great Places choice, we hosted a conversation between Jasmine Warga and her “hometown librarian” Paula Brehm-Heeger, the Eva Jane Romaine Coombe Director of the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library.

Not only is Brehm-Heeger at the helm of the library in which Warga grew up, the two have a history together from the time Brehm-Heeger was the Teen Services Librarian in Cincinnati. Warga served on the Teen Advisory Board (taking the initiative to “appoint” herself as president, as you’ll hear) and also participated in library conferences as a teen in collaboration with Brehm-Heeger.

Boozer also asked about how Jude was doing. How did the play go? Is she alright? Is she happy? Warga gave a perfect answer, but you’ll have to watch the recording to find out what it is.

We hope you enjoy this lively and warm conversation bringing together two long-time fans of the city of Cincinnati and the world-class library that serves it.
